Superworms

Great feeder mealworm, less exoskeleton than the smaller mealworms.

We raise all our own superworms for feeding Bearded Dragons, Geckos, and Dwarf Monitors.

Superworms must be seperated to turn into the beetle stage of thier lifecycle.
We use 35mm film containers to seperate the worms. It usually takes +/- 30 days
from the time you put the mealworms into the film cans to the time they morph into beetles.

During the change from worm to beetle they go through an intermediate pupae stage.

Once they emerge as beetles we put 100-150 of them into a 3
gallon rubbermaid with 1-2 inches of peat moss.

You need to move beetles to another box/container every 10-14 days.
This allows the eggs to hatch without being eaten by other newly hatched worms.

We only feed newly motled(white) Superworms to our reptiles, therer have been cases where
adult superworms have injured some species of herps, most notable being Chameleons.
